Within the PowAcademy course, we’ve briefly touched on lead magnets; what they are, some examples, and how to use them to effectively engage potential customers with your product or service.
(If you haven’t already watched the video or joined the PowAcademy, you can do so here.)
Just a quick introduction for those of you who are new to lead magnets: they are a tool, piece of information, or free service that you can offer to potential customers in order to get them to give you some contact information.
For example, a digital marketing company could produce a guide to social media.
These lead magnets, effective as they are, are simple and potentially less engaging to your customers as they ought to be.
Remember, the key is figuring out your customer’s goals and what you can provide to help them achieve these.
So, what are some of the more complex – and really effective – type of lead magnets out there?
1: Dynamic Surveys: Asking for a customer’s point of view can prove extremely valuable, especially if their suggestions are taken into consideration. This type of lead magnet is very effective in engaging customers; survey builders such as Typeform, LeadShook or PowLeads Surveys are great platforms where you can build dynamic surveys that lead to different questions depending on the previous answer given. This kind of dynamic survey really helps to personalise the experience and increase engagement.
2: Provide a Tool: This could be something like a credit checking app, an SEO ranker, or a mortgage calculator. These tools can provide invaluable insights to the client (for free), that then secure you in their mind as a trustworthy business. It’s a great way to get people coming back to your site over and over, build trust, which makes them a lot more likely to purchase a higher-end product or service from you!
3: Create a Course: PowAcademy is a great example of this. We want you to have confidence in our PowLeads software and to keep your subscription going, so why wouldn’t we invest in teaching you how to use it in the most effective way possible?! This is a great solution for a service that is particularly complex, but please bear in mind that good quality content is difficult and fairly time consuming to create. There is a course builder within PowLeads, which may help you through the process if you decide it’s worth it!
4: Create a Community: Using software like BuddyBoss, you can build a ‘mini Facebook’ and create a community of your customers. With a larger project like this, you would need to provide high-quality content that will keep people engaged over a long period of time. This is where you should think about your niche: how useful would it be to have all of your customers in one place?
Hopefully this has made you think a little bit about how your customers might engage with some of these lead magnets! If you’re struggling to understand your customers, I would suggest that you complete our Customer Insights Worksheet and go from there.
